Groups audience:

This property is listed as house number 19 in the 1911 census, and it's sole occupant at that time was a Ms Ellen Wenmouth aged 75 born in Co. Wexford. Her religion is listed as Church of Ireland. Ellen is listed in the 1901 census, living in house no. 30, Ardmore, with her older sister Susan, both were dressmakers. In both 1901 & 1911 they were the only Wenmouth's in Ireland. The Wenmouth surname seems to originate in Cornwall. ‘Big’ Jim Prendergast lived in this house when he married in the late 1920s. He would be Pat Prendergast’s uncle and grandfather of the Mulcahy’s. Jim was a very active Volunteer during the War of Independence and he later joined the Gardaí.
