Situated alongside St. Declan's Catholic Church, this house was occupied by Maurice Flynn (fisherman) and his family. In 1911, Maurice & his wife Margaret had one daughter, Mary, and three sons, John, Patrick & Maurice, all under the age of eight.  In 1916 Patrick was in second class in the adjacent school. Margaret took over the job of chapel woman following the dismissal of Mag Wolsey. John, or Jack as he was known, was a well known village character. One tale told about him is on being told he had a good job now building for a wealthy couple, he replied 
 
‘Good job how are you? I looked in the window and the two of them were eating out of the one egg!’
Paddy fished salmon for many years with Jimmy Rooney and worked on Jimmy’s farm during the closed season.This property was renovated by Jimmy’s son, Noel & Sheila Rooney in 2008.
