The Post Office was formerly run by Debbie Whelan (nee Taylor). Her husband was the blacksmith Mick Whelan. Mick's father, James, was postmaster and blacksmith in the 1911 census. In 1911 James and Mary Whelan had been 18 years married and had 10 children living with them from the ages of 17-1.
