The 1901 Census (http://goo.gl/wxJdrk) lists approx 232 people living in approx 61 different houses in the village of Ardmore. If we exclude the scholars (schoolchildren) listed in the village we can see a wide range of occupations dominated by the number of people in service nd also by farmers. Publicans, drapers, dressmakers, plasterers, boatmakers, carpenters are all present along with a blacksmith, national school teachers and a number of other occupations. The village seemed quite a self-sufficient place really.
