Laharn National School built in 1843 in the townland of Glouminane was the first national school built in the townland of Kilshannig in North Cork. It closed in 1996 and now serves as a community and heritage centre for the Laharn community.
The first Principal teacher was Alex mcAuliffe. The first trustees were Tim Cussen, Cor's Murphy, T. Murphy and Samuel Townsend (landlord family).
A replacement school was built in 1937 across the road from the original building.
