Cogans House, Scarragh

Cogans House, Scarragh

This building was originally built as a protestant school over 150 years ago and was also used for Sunday evening services for the protestant parish of Kilshannig. Newberry Manor had the right to hold a court of law for minor offences and the court was held regularly in this schoolhouse. The building was converted to a private dwelling after the truce and the Cogan family resides there now.
