Holy Cross, Charleville

Charleville is a town on the border between counties Limerick & Cork. Holy Cross graveyard is situated in Co. Cork. Also known as Rathgoggan graveyard, from the townland (Rathgoggan South) in which it is situated. This was the medieval parish church and has an associated holy well.

 

Liscarroll

This was the medieval parish church for Liscarroll. 

 

Churchtown

Situated in Churchtown townland and village this is also known as Bruhenny graveyard. Locked any time we have visited we presume this was not the case in the early 1800s.

 

St. John's, Buttevant

St. John's was built in 1826, so any of the Peter Robinson families from this area would have probably seen the work in progress before they sailed to Ontario. Situated in Castlelands townland it is part of the old medieval settlement.

 

Franciscan Friary, Buttevant

Garryhintoge

Garryhintogue graveyard also known as Aglish. Contains 18th century headstones and also the ruins of a parish church which may be later medieval in origin.

 

Templetaggart

Within Doneraile parish and close to Kilcolman Castle made famous by its association with Spenser. This historic graveyard is situated in a hotbed of Irish history, the lands here about being contested during and after the Munster Plantations & the Cromwellian transplantations.

 

Oldcourt

An historic graveyard between Doneraile & Buttevant, overlooking the Bregoge river, a tributary of the Awbeg river which flows through Doneraile.

 

St. Mary's, Doneraile, Co. Cork

Easy to find Church of Ireland church & graveyard in Doneraile village.

 

Sullivan's Hut Cluster, Dromnea

Pre-famine hut cluster. At the time of Griffiths Valuation's first publication (1850s) two heads of house are listed here, Timothy Sullivan and Denis Sullivan, both of whom are leasing land directly from Cornelius Cronin who lived in the adjacent houses in Dromnea to the north.
