Townland

Coolroe

A rural townland cut by the N25 road, near to the Marine Bar. Canon Power (1907) identifies as number of Coolroe's in Waterford and interprets the placename as 'the red corner' - the colour red probably relating to the bog found in the town land. Bogs are often identified as red or black.

Boherboy

A rural townland in the Drum hills approx 5 km north of Ardmore village. Interpreted by Canon Power (1907) as 'the yellow road' this name may indicate the location of an ancient routeway across the Drum Hills.
