James Shaughnessy, victualler, lived in a cottage here (now demolished) in 1911. Aged 71 in 1911 he was listed as an old age pensioner and spoke Irish & English. The 1901 census listed James as being 45 years of age, his surname was also given as O'Shaughnessy. In 1901 an adjacent cottage was occupied by O'Shaugnessy's also - maybe relatives but that house appears to have been in ruins by 1911.
