Croghan, Co. Roscommon. Our Townlands, Our History!

Croghan, Co. Roscommon. Our Townlands, Our History!

A community heritage survey and mapping project devised by Patricia Keane of Dacklin and involving the students of Croghan NS, 6th class in May & June 2018 along with their teacher Gary Kelleher.

The project was part funded by the Heritage Council grants 2018, facilitated by Cavetown Residents Association Co..

The student's heritage research was guided by John Tierney, field archaeologist and they subsequently mapped their townlands as part of an artwork under the supervision of visual artist Diane Henshaw. Complimenting the artwork the digital artefacts of the survey are being publishd here on thememorytrail.com and on facebook.

The survey was guided by a questionnaire issued to the students and they, their parents, grandparents and neighbours all then delved into their parish & townlands history & heritage.
